About Penilik

The Main Duties of a Penilik or Superintendent

Penilik or Superintendent is someone who has responsibility in non formal as well as informal educations' programs. As a superintendent I have two main duties, first, I have to assure the quality of a program. Second, I have to evaluate the impact of the programs which are community-based education programs.
Non formal and informal education programs are those related to early childhood education, life skills, literacy and equity and women empowerment. The quality assurance can be done when a superintendent do several activities, namely; monitoring, supervising, evaluating and guidence. Impact evaluation of education programs can be measured by conducting a research in the community. In performing my duties I work collaboratively with programs educators and the managers as well as the community. So, I have to be able to make a good planning for it can be successfully achieved. Working in a large community with different mind-set and educations level is not an easy task. I need to have knowledge in how to manage an educational program, how to communicate effectively and how to perform my duty with high self confidence.
